The Behavior and Social Sciences section has a great value because medicine is more than drugs, surgeries, symptoms and syndromes; medicine is dealing with individual patients, each with their own background, fears, beliefs, culture, psychological terrain. The doctor today must be liaison between all these variables that influence a human being and the possibilities of treatment, so that eventually he will obtain the patient’s well being, both physically and mentally. The Behavior and Social Sciences section will thus, contain papers dealing with the difficult ethical medical decisions and attitudes and possible solutions to, sometimes apparently impossible, ethical problems.
